Vinicius Jr has lauded former Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti for instilling confidence in the Brazilian football team in the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Los Blancos winger believes that the Selecao are on the right path and looking to give their best to win the World Cup next year.
During a recent press conference with the CBF's official media, Vinicius Jr claimed that thanks to Ancelotti, Brazil are growing into a team that can produce exemplary results. The 25-year-old also urged his teammates to adapt the World Cup mindset. He said (via GOAL):
"With Ancelotti, we're evolving and building a clear playing identity. Finding that balance before the World Cup will be crucial. We all have to get into the World Cup mindset and understand that our opportunity has arrived.
"He's done the same thing everywhere he's gone - instilling confidence and getting the best out of every player in their ideal position. He always says his dream is to make the Brazilian people happy, to bring back the joyful football that defines us, and to win the World Cup."
Vinicius Jr also said that Ancelotti reminded the players of their passion to play for the nation. He added:
"He gives us calm and confidence. He reminds us that we already have the passion and intensity to wear this shirt - and that's the hardest part. We just need to win so that his work gets the recognition it deserves."
Carlo Ancelotti became the new Brazil head coach after leaving Real Madrid in May, earlier this year. Since then, he has been in charge of the side in six games, including friendlies.
Carlo Ancelotti denies that he asked Brazilian attacker to leave Real Madrid to play in the World Cup

Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that he did not ask Endrick to leave Real Madrid if he wants to play the 2026 FIFA World Cup. During a recent interview with Diario AS, the former Everton boss opened up on the youngster's situation.
Ancelotti also billed Endrick as an important player for Brazilian football. He said (via ESPN):
"He's a very important player because he's one of the talents to have come out of Brazilian football.
"We're evaluating him. But it's not true that I said Endrick should leave Real Madrid to go to the World Cup. That's a matter between Real Madrid and the player. He needs to talk to the club and make the best decision for himself and for Real Madrid."
Endrick joined Los Blancos in July last year and has since played only 38 games, scoring seven goals and providing one assist across all competitions. In the 2025-26 campaign under Xabi Alonso, the 19-year-old has made only one appearance, playing for 11 minutes against Valencia.
