Manchester United fans on social media have expressed their frustration at Diogo Dalot after his performance in the 2-2 Premier League draw at Nottingham Forest. Some fans believe the 26-year-old cost them two points after failing to stop two crosses, which led to goals for the opponents.
Ruben Amorim's side took the lead in the first half with Casemiro getting on the scoresheet in the 34th minute. The Reds Devils, who were looking for their fourth win on the bounce, managed to hold on to their lead until half-time.
Nottingham Forest came out all guns blazing in the second half, scoring two goals in as many minutes. Morgan Giobbs-White equalized in the 48th minute, before Nicolo Savona gave them the lead two minutes later.
Manchester United were facing defeat before Amad Diallo scored a stunning goal in the 81st minute to level things up once again. Both sides were keen on getting a winner, but failed to find the back of the net before full-time.
The fans were quick to point fingers at Dalot after the game, with many calling for the club to leave the Portuguese defender in Nottingham. They posted:
Ruben Amorim admitted after the game that they dropped two points in the game and should have done better. He rued the five minutes in which his players failed to turn up and conceded two goals. He said (via UTD report):
"We had five minutes where we disconnected and conceded two goals. We dropped energy levels, aggression and you can feel it. But we scored and tried to win the game. Let's work to win next week. For me, we lost two points and we should have done better."
The result leaves Manchester United fifth in the Premier League table, eight points behind leaders Arsenal. A win would have seen them go to second in the table.
