Speaking to the media ahead of the Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth, Amorim claimed that Manchester United academy players were not getting chances because they were not good enough for the first team.

He was quizzed about Mainoo, when he hinted that the midfielder was not making the most of his chances, and the loanees were also struggling at their clubs. He said (via club website):

"It's like any other player. The door is open for any player to change my mind, but in the end, it's going to be the training, the games. Of course he's not playing so many games, but Kobs had opportunities, especially last year that everyone had. [Harry] Amass is now struggling in the Championship. Chido is not always a starter with the Under-21s. All these guys played when a lot of people were saying sack the manager!"

"So you can see that I'm not worried in that time about everybody. I'm just looking at the team and trying to win the next game and trying to think about the team. I will do that until the end. Kobs is one more player that I understand all the interest, I understand how important it is, the hopes that you English guys have. I also just want to win and if he's the right guy I will put him [in]. No problem."

Manchester United loanee Harry Amass facing uncertain future

Manchester United loanee Harry Amass is facing an uncertain future, after Sheffield Wednesday manager Henrik Pedersen said that they would like to keep the left wing-back at the club in January. He hinted that the Red Devils will be taking the call on the youngster, whose contract at Old Trafford expires in 2027.

He said (via BBC):

“He does a great job, and he does a great job together with his teammates because, again, nobody can do something alone – and it is the same for Harry. But Harry has played a fantastic season. I’m sure that we will do everything to keep him, and I’m also sure that for Harry and for Manchester United it’s a good match right now.”

Amass has started 15 matches for the EFL Championship side this season, playing 1327 minutes so far in the league.
