Manchester United question Ruben Amorim's selection

Manchester United fans are not happy with manager Ruben Amorim for picking Joshua Zirkzee in the starting XI for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace. Many believe that the Dutchman should have been benched after his performance in the Everton loss.

Amorim has kept faith in the Senne Lammens in goal, after his impressive display since joining in the summer. He has Leny Yoro, Matthijs De Ligt and Luke Shaw playing in the backline right in front of him.

Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot are the wing-backs for the Red Devils today, with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes starting in the midfield. Mason Mount and Bryan Mbeumo are the attacking midfielders, with Joshua Zirkzee leading the attack.

Manchester United fans are delighted with the starting XI, but are questioning the inclusion of Zirkzee. Many have posted:

Talking about his changes ahead of the match, Amorim said that the decision to drop both wing-backs who started the Everton loss was tactical. He said (via UTD District):

“Tactical reasons. System, sometimes the right foot on the left side is easier for them to run away from the duels. Munoz is really strong on the second post. Diogo is the best one on that. I think we need one against one."

"We struggle a lot when we don’t have the one against one, at least as one winger, and Amad can give us that on that part of the field. And then I make a rotation based on training also. So that is really important, especially in our moment, if we train well, we are going to play.”

Manchester United also have their highly rated academy star, Shea Lacey, on the bench today.

Manchester United star gets anxious on the pitch, says Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim spoke about Patrick Dorgu ahead of their match against Crystal Palace, claiming that the wing-back suffers from anxiety on the pitch. He added that the Danish star needs to calm himself and said (via GOAL):

"You can feel the anxiety every time Patrick touches the ball. I can feel the anxiety. When I see Patrick playing for the national team, he scored a great goal against Scotland and the decision that he made under pressure was completely different than the decision he's making in our team. I think it's the decision, he needs to be calmer playing the game."

Manchester United are 12th in the Premier League table ahead of kick-off, and can jump to sixth with a win.
