Liverpool fans have hit out at defender Ibrahima Konate over his performance in their disappointing Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest. The Reds suffered a second successive 3-0 defeat in the league as they dropped into the bottom half of the standings for the first time this season.

Arne Slot watched on from the sidelines as his side suffered their joint-heaviest home defeat in a Premier League game against Forest, who began the day in the relegation zone. Liverpool looked far from convincing in the game as their opponents put them to the sword with goals in both halves.

France international Konate started alongside club captain Virgil van Dijk at the back for the Reds, who were looking to bounce back from their defeat at Manchester City before the break. The 26-year-old came in for criticism after his side let in three goals despite the return to action of Alisson, with fans blaming him for his part. Ibrahima Konate made one tackle, three clearances, and two ball recoveries during his time on the pitch for Liverpool. He managed to win only two of five ground duels and won both of his aerial duels in the game before he was substituted off for Hugo Ekitike after 55 minutes.

Nottingham Forest compound Liverpool misery with Anfield thrashing

Nottingham Forest added to the woes of Arne Slot and his Liverpool side by claiming a 3-0 win over them at Anfield. Sean Dyche's side moved up three places in the league table to 16th after the win, climbing out of the relegation zone.
