Chelsea fans on social media are slamming Filip Jorgensen after the goalkeeper's performance against Wolverhampton in the Carabao Cup. They have no confidence in the Danish star after he let in three goals in the game.
Enzo Maresca's side blew away Wolverhampton in the first half, taking a 3-0 lead before the break. Andrey Santos opened the scoring early in the game, before Tyrique George doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Estevao William added one more in the 41st minute, to give them full control of the match.
However, Wolverhampton pulled two goals back, making it 3-2 in the 73rd minute. Jamie Gittens made it 4-2 in the 89th minute minutes after the Blues went down to 10-men, but the home side scored once again, to make it 4-3 in the 91st minute. The Chelsea fans were furious with Jorgensen for his role in all the goals and posted:
Enzo Maresca has admitted that the second half was disappointing and said:
"Very happy first-half, very upset second-half. This is the analysis and my personal view of the game. I think first-half we were very, very good. It's always complicated to go away and score three goals. We were playing nice forward, great chances.
"We didn't concede nothing and second half we were not doing the right things. Probably the first goal we conceded opened a little bit the game, gave them the boost, the energy to come back in the game. And then the three goals we conceded, I think all of them we can avoid and for sure today also we had a very stupid red card that is completely unnecessary."
Chelsea face Cardiff City in the next round of the Carabao Cup.
Chelsea star slammed by Enzo Maresca after Wolverhampton win
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca slammed Liam Delap after the striker was sent off in the second half. The Englishman was brought on right after the hour mark, but was on the pitch for just 25 minutes after getting two yellow cards.
Maresca was asked about the red card and said (via football.london):
"Absolutely, yes. A stupid foul. He deserved that. I can understand the red cards against Brighton and United, but against Nottingham and today, we can avoid that. After the yellow card, I told him four or five times to stay calm. When he is on the pitch, he sometimes plays the game for himself and struggles to see the others around him."
