Gary Neville predicts 'awkward' Arsenal result as he makes bold claim before Sunderland clash

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has claimed that Arsenal will drop points in their upcoming Premier League game against Sunderland on Saturday (November 8).

The Gunners are atop the Premier League table with 25 points from 10 encounters and have shipped three league goals so far. They recorded their eighth successive clean sheet across all competitions after defeating UEFA Champions League team Slavia Prague 3-0 earlier this Tuesday.

However, Sunderland could prove to be a difficult away trip for Mikel Arteta's outfit. The Black Cats have defied expectations following their promotion, winning five of their 10 Premier League games this season. They are currently fourth in the table with a respectable 18 points.

During the latest episode of The Overlap, former England international and former Sunderland star Jill Scott shared her thoughts on Arsenal's upcoming clash at The Stadium of Light. She said (h/t Metro):

"You know what... I've got a feeling for Sunderland. The Stadium of Light is bouncing. Do you think we could get something?"

Neville agreed with Scott and predicted the scoreline of Saturday's game, saying:

"They're awkward Sunderland, aren't they? I'll go with 1-1. I don't really know why I've done that... I fancy Arsenal but Sunderland are tough there."

When asked to opine on the same by Neville, Gunners great Ian Wright replied:

"We are [doing well]. We're playing well. I'm going 2-0 for Arsenal."

The Gunners, who are currently on a 10-match winning streak, have won nine and drawn three of their last 12 matches across all competitions against Sunderland.

Joe Cole names Arsenal's top contender

After Liverpool's 1-0 UEFA Champions League victory over Real Madrid earlier this Tuesday, former Chelsea star Joe Cole lavished praise on Arne Slot's side. He told TNT Sports (h/t Metro):

"I thought they were brilliant against Aston Villa at the weekend and I thought they were equally outstanding tonight. It's a marquee win. They really took Real Madrid to the sword. It could have been three or four. [Thibaut] Courtois was brilliant. I think it's a marker down for them to say, we are at it again. I think Liverpool will kick on and I think they'll push Arsenal all the way in the league."

The Reds dominated Real Madrid at Anfield in midweek, forcing former Blues shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois to register eight saves. They secured all three points after Alexis Mac Allister headed in the winner in the 61st minute of the clash.

Liverpool are third in the Premier League standings with 18 points from 10 games.
