“Completely free, but ignored” - Barcelona fans call out 27-year-old star for refusing to pass to Marcus Rashford in 3-1 win vs Alaves

Barcelona fans have called out midfielder Dani Olmo over his failure to find Marcus Rashford with a pass in their 3-1 win over Alaves. The Spanish giants claimed a vital win in front of their fans at the Spotify Camp Nou to reach the summit of LaLiga.

Hansi Flick asked his side for a reaction following their 3-0 humbling at Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, and he made a number of changes to his XI. Spain international Olmo was included from the start in place of Fermin Lopez, having played for just ten minutes at Stamford Bridge.

Olmo delivered a goalscoring display for his side at home, scoring once in either half to take his tally for the season to three goals. Despite his brace, his performance was punctuated by the occasional poor decision, an instance of which stood out for the fans. Some of the fans took to X to complain about the midfielder's decision-making.

Barcelona return to winning ways against Alaves

Barcelona secured all three points in their LaLiga meeting with Alaves after claiming a 3-1 win in their second game back at the Spotify Camp Nou. The Spanish champions recovered from an early setback to claim maximum points from the encounter at home.

Alaves took a shock lead inside the first minute when Pablo Ibanez tapped in from close range. Barcelona needed just seven minutes to draw level, with Lamine Yamal finding the net after Robert Lewandowski set him up. They turned the game on its head in the 26th minute as Raphinha set up Dani Olmo to sidefoot an effort home from the edge of the box.

Barcelona saw their intensity drop in the second period, allowing Alaves to try to peg them back once again. They had the final say in stoppage time as Yamal set up Olmo following a fast break, and the 27-year-old midfielder scored his second of the game. La Blaugrana are now two points clear of Real Madrid, who have played a game less, at the summit of LaLiga.
