It also led to his teammates making jokes, as Levi Colwill commented:

“I don’t believe it. Mon garçon [my son] scored.”

After the game, Gusto also shared his thoughts on his goal and the team's performance, saying (h/t Mirror):

"It was a big win. The performance was really important for us before the international break. We’re all young players, we have to keep building and to fight for titles. We are Chelsea. We want to show the fans and prove we can compete. Now we grow as a team. Last season was great in terms of titles, but this season we have to fight for more.”

The Blues signed Gusto from Lyon for a reported fee of €35 million in 2023. He's made 98 appearances for them, recording one goal and 14 assists.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca opens up on Malo Gusto's attacking threat

Malo Gusto has become a key player under Enzo Maresca this season. With Reece James being utilized in a midfield or an inverted right-back position at times, Gusto has started 10 games across competitions.

After his goal against Wolves on Saturday, Enzo Maresca hoped for more goal contributions from the Frenchman, saying (h/t Mirror):

“Last season [Marc] Cucurella scored six or seven goals and hopefully Malo can score more goals this season. Malo was close so many times and we like full-backs attacking and arriving inside the box. Malo is one of our main players because he allows us to be versatile. So we are very happy for Malo.”

With the win over Wolves, Chelsea moved to third place in the Premier League standings, sitting six points behind leaders Arsenal. They will face Burnley at Turf Moor after the international break on November 22.
