Noni Madueke believes Arsenal can win both the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League this season. He said that they have a good and focused squad, which can compete on all fronts.
The Gunners are searching for their first major trophy since the FA Cup triumph in the 2019-20 season. They currently sit atop both the Champions League and Premier League standings. They beat Club Brugge 3-0 at Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday to maintain their 100% record in the Champions League after six games this season.
Noni Madueke scored a brace, while Gabriel Martinelli scored another goal for Arsenal. After the game, the former Chelsea man told TNT Sports:
"We’re fighting on all fronts. I feel like we can win this competition and win the league, that has to be the aim. We're in a good place at the moment."
"We're tight, that's the main thing. We want each other to do well, we know there are loads of minutes for all of us. It's about all of us as a collective, we know we all have a part to play. That's the good thing about this team," he added.
Madueke became the first player to score his first three goals for Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League.
Noni Madueke opens up about his contribution for Arsenal and Club Brugge win
Noni Madueke started against Club Brugge on Wednesday and opened the scoring with a brilliant solo goal in the 25th minute. He then added another in the 47th minute, before Gabriel Martinelli completed the scoring nine minutes later.
Madueke attempted four shots, completed 21/27 passes, completed 2/4 dribble attempts, and won 5/12 duels (via SofaScore). Reflecting on his performance, the Arsenal winger said:
"I think the bare minimum I need to give to my team is threat. Obviously, trying to score and be as decisive as possible, that's the next level I need to get to in terms of being consistently decisive for club and country. I think I can reach that level. Last Champions League game I scored, nice to get another two, hopefully I can bring that form into the league."
Arsenal signed Madueke from Chelsea for a reported fee of £52 million in the summer. He has scored three goals in 12 games across competitions for them, starting in seven.
The Gunners, meanwhile, will next face Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates in the Premier League on Saturday, December 13.
