Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has provided a worrying update on Arsenal star Kai Havertz. The former Chelsea man is set to be out for another month after suffering an injury relapse.
Speaking to the media after the win over Slovakia, Nagelsmann admitted that the Germany national team misses Havertz, but the Arsenal star is set to miss a few more weeks after suffering a relapse of his knee injury. The German was set to be back after the international break, but is now out until the end of the year. He said (via GOAL):
"With Kai, we know that it will be months with him. I don’t know if it can be weeks, you never know, because this is Kai and he’s a different specimen. We really miss him. Hopefully, he will be back, and back for the long term as well, so it is very important to look after that knee. So far, he’s progressing pretty well."
Havertz's injury update comes just days after Norway manager Stale Solbakken handed Mikel Arteta a worrying update on Odegaard. He said that the Norwegian was far away from returning to the pitch and said (via Tribal Football):
"It is steady. It is going in a steady direction, but he is some distance away. He will fly in (to Oslo) after his rehab on Thursday, then he will continue his rehab with us and will be with us from Thursday afternoon. I don't know when the flight leaves. But he will be with us until Milan."
Arsenal are on top of the Premier League table, with 26 points from their opening 11 matches. They are four points ahead of Manchester City, who sit second in the table.
Mikel Arteta worried about Arsenal star's injury
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta spoke about Viktor Gyokeres earlier this month, admitting that he was worried about the striker's injury. He said that it was not a good sign that the Swedish star asked to be taken off at half time in the Burnley win and said (via talkSPORT):
"I am concerned. Because he hasn't had many muscular issues, and he needed to leave the pitch and he was feeling something. It's never a good sign, especially for a player who is explosive. We are digging in a little bit more to understand the extent and where we are in terms of the injury, and we’ll announce the moment we know [more].”
Arsenal face Tottenham this weekend, before taking on Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League. They face Chelsea in the final Premier League match of the month.
