Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Ben White has suffered another injury that could keep him out for some time. The Englishman has a hamstring injury, and the club are waiting for the medical report.

Speaking to the media after the dramatic 2-1 win over Wolverhampton, Arteta said that White's injury was due to the lack of minutes this season due to his knee injury. He added that they had also risked William Saliba in the game because of the lack of options and said (via club website):

"He hasn't played a lot of minutes because of the previous knee issue that he had, then the moment he started to get some momentum he had to play a lot because we didn't have any other solution. We had to even risk Wilo today because probably it wasn't their best call to play 90 minutes because we were buying tickets for another injury, but we don't have anybody else, but yeah that's bad news for sure."

When asked about the extent of White's injury, Arteta added:

"It looks like a hamstring [injury], so we don't know the extent of that, but probably tomorrow or the day after we'll know more."

Arsenal had Ben White coming off in the 30th minute, with Myles Lewis-Skelly replacing him. They needed two own goals from Wolverhampton players to seal an injury-time win over the bottom-placed side.

Sam Johnstone headed in a cross from Bukayo Saka after it bounced back from the post, before Tolu Arokodare leveled things up in the 90th minute. The match looked set for a draw when Yerson Mosquera accidentally headed in another cross from Saka deep into injury time.

Mikel Arteta relieved after Arsenal's win over Wolverhampton

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admitted that he was relieved after his side managed to come away with all three points. He said that they were unable to pick the right players inside the box in the game and said (via club website):

"It was a relief, but a very clear understanding that the margin should have been bigger. After not being precise enough in the first half with the amount of situations that we generated inside the opposition box and we didn't pick the right colour of shirt on so many occasions, we had an overload to do that. We had to improve in the second half in relation to that, I think we did it. We are relieved because we managed to score a goal at the end and go and win it, but we need to improve in that sense for sure."

Arsenal moved five points clear of Manchester City, who face Crystal Palace on Sunday, December 14.
