Egypt boss Hossam Hassan appeared to put his weight behind Mohamed Salah following the Liverpool striker's public outburst against his club boss Arne Slot after starting from the bench for a third straight game.
Salah, 33, had an explosive post-game interview after he didn't come on during the 3-3 Premier League draw at Leeds United at the weekend, hinting at a fractured relationship with Slot and being 'thrown under the bus' (as per the BBC):
"I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame, the Egyptian said. "I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don't have any relationship.
"I don't know why but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn't want me in the club. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame."
Hassan posted an image of himself and Salah on Instagram and wrote (as per ECHO):
"Always a symbol of determination and strength."
The Reds had made a fine start to their title defence - winning their opening five games - before spectacularly imploding. They have won just once in six games across competitions - losing thrice - dropping to ninth in the Premier League after 15 games, 10 points behind leaders Arsenal (33).
How has Mohamed Salah fared for Liverpool this season?

Mohamed Salah has had an unexpectedly lean season for Liverpool, going by his staggering standards. In 19 games across competitions, the 33-year-old has struck just five times and provided three assists.
That includes just four goals and two assists in 13 outings in the Premier League, not coming off the bench in two of the last three games and playing 45 minutes in the 1-1 home draw with Sunderland earlier this month.
Salah - who has netted 250 times in 420 games across competitions for the Reds - recently inked a two-year deal with the club. However, following his extraordinary outburst, it remains to be seen if he has played his last for the Anfield side, whom he had joined in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma.
The Reds are next in action at Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday (December 9), with Slot's side 13th in the standings after five games, winning three.
