Aaron Ramsey believes Arsenal will get the better of Tottenham Hotspur in the upcoming north London derby at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, November 23.
The Gunners have had a fantastic season so far, as they currently sit atop the Premier League table with 26 points from 11 games. After being held to a late 2-2 draw against Sunderland in their last outing, Mikel Arteta’s side will want to right the wrongs of a fortnight ago when they welcome their cross-town rivals in Sunday’s clash.
While Spurs have also had a quite decent 2025-26 campaign, they’ve struggled against Arsenal in recent times and haven’t won a league game against the Gunners since 2022.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Ramsey expects his former side to take all three points in the 198th north London derby, citing their current form.
“I can’t see anything other than an Arsenal win at the moment,” he said. The way they’re playing, I’m really looking forward to it.”
In addition to topping the table, the Gunners look very solid in defense, having conceded only five goals—the lowest of any side in the division. When asked if the Gunners have the right mindset and quality to win the league this season, Rasey added:
“Yeah, I think obviously what we’ve seen this season has been incredible. The way that they’ve played, they amount of clean sheets that they’ve had. They look like they’re a team now that is ready to take that next step. It’s not easy to win the Premier League by no means, but I think this is a good a chance as they’re going to have. It’s an important win for them coming up now. They’ve got obviously Spurs and then they’ve Bayern and then Chelsea I think the following week. So, an important week for them to get through. They’ve been really impressive so far this season.”
“I just think Arsenal will do what Arsenal do again” – Manchester United legend expects Gunners to miss out on league title yet again
Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke doesn’t think the Gunners will put an end to their near misses in the Premier League this season despite holding up a four-point lead at the top of the table.
Arteta's side ended as runners-up in each of the last three campaigns but look set to put that disappointing streak to an end after a strong start to the season. Speaking to Snabbare via Metro, Yorke said:
“I just think Arsenal will do what Arsenal do again. I have a funny feeling that somehow they won’t get it over the line. It depends on the competitions they are in too. I’m sure Mikel Arteta is going to prioritise everything. He’s trying to win it all but you’ve got to win your domestic league.”
With still many league games to play, the Gunners have been handed a huge blow after their defender Gabriel Magalhaes picked up an injury during the just concluded international break.
