Morocco and Saudi Arabia square off at the Lusail Stadium in the final Group B game of the 2025 Arab Cup on Monday. While Herve Renard’s men have already booked their place in the knockout stages, Morocco need maximum points here to guarantee qualification to the next phase of the tournament.
Morocco were guilty of a lack of cutting edge in the final third on Thursday when they were held to a goalless draw by Oman in matchday two of Group B.
Before that, Walid Regragui’s side kicked off the 2025 Arab Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Comoros on December 2 thanks to first-half goals from Soufiane Bouftini, Tarik Tissoudali, and Karim El Berkaoui.
Morocco, who sit second in Group B with four points from a possible six, will head into Monday’s tie in search of all three points as they look to keep their fate in their own hands and reach the knockout stages.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia became the first side to reach the Arab Cup quarter-finals as they secured a 3-1 victory over Comoros on Thursday.
This followed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Oman in the Group B opener on December 2, courtesy of goals from Firas Al-Buraikan and Al-Ittihad man Saleh Al-Shehri.
Saudi Arabia are aiming for their third Arab Cup title, and a first since 2002, when they secured a 1-0 extra-time victory over Bahrain in the final thanks to a 94th-minute strike from Mohammed Noor.
