Macarthur return to action in the Australian A-League when they welcome Perth Glory to the Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday. Mile Sterjovski’s side are unbeaten in each of their previous five home games against Perth, claiming four wins and one draw since April 2021, and will be looking to extend this impressive streak.
Macarthur maintained their fine run of results in the AFC Champions League as they picked up a 2-1 comeback victory over Hong Kong outfit Tai Po at home on Thursday.
Since losing 2-0 against Tai Po back in September's opening game, Sterjovski’s men have now gone four consecutive matches without defeat in the continental showpiece (3W 1D), a run which has seen them pull two points clear at the top of the Group E.
Macarthur now turn their focus to the A-League, where they have struggled for consistency this season, picking up two wins and losing two of their five matches while scoring four goals and conceding five so far.
Like the home side, Perth Glory turned in a resilient team display last time out when they fought back from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Newcastle Jets in their A-League clash.
This was a much-needed result for David Zdrilic’s side, who had failed to win their opening four matches, playing out a 2-2 draw with Wellington Phoenix in October’s season opener before successive defeats against Melbourne City, Melbourne Victory, and Central Coast Mariners.
Perth Glory have picked up just four points from the first 15 available in the league to sit 10th in the standings, three points and one spot behind this weekend’s hosts.
