England welcome Serbia to Wembley on Thursday evening in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match. England have already qualified for next summer's tournament in North America, winning all six of their matches thus far.
Serbia, though, are in danger of missing out, as they are a point behind Albania with two games remaining.
So, can Serbia salvage their qualifying campaign with an upset win, or will England brush them aside again?
England vs Serbia Head-to-Head and Key Numbers
- England and Serbia last faced off in September, when things clicked for Thomas Tuchel's Three Lions and they destroyed their opponents 0-5 in Belgrade. Before that, their only meeting in the past decade came at Euro 2024, when a Jude Bellingham header handed England a 1-0 win.
- After a slow start under Tuchel, England are absolutely flying right now and look as dangerous as ever. Not only did they beat Serbia comfortably, but they have won seven of their eight games under the German, and have scored fifteen in their last four while conceding none.
- After an unbeaten start to their qualifying campaign, the loss to England appeared to rock Serbia badly. They were beaten at home by Albania in October, and while they did rebound by defeating Andorra, they're not coming into this match with much momentum.
- England will come into this match in relatively good shape, as there have been no major injury withdrawals from the current squad. The Three Lions are without Cole Palmer, but have welcomed Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden back into the fold, as well as potential debutants Alex Scott and Nico O'Reilly.
- Serbia, however, may not be so lucky, as Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic looks set to withdraw from their squad. Reports suggest he is suffering from a back issue and may have to return to Turin.
England vs Serbia Prediction
Even when they had a fit Vlahovic up front, Serbia were easily dismantled by England two months ago. It's hard to imagine anything changing in this match.
Not only have Thomas Tuchel's side really settled into an attacking groove recently, scoring plenty of goals, but they have also been impenetrable at the back, and a Serbia without their best attacker can't be expected to change that.
While England may take their foot off the gas a little because they've already qualified, they're unlikely to let their home fans down. Therefore, we should expect Tuchel's team to win here.
Prediction: England 3-0 Serbia
