- Aston Villa's recent record against Bournemouth is a strong one, as they have not suffered a loss to them since August 2022. Since then, they have won three and drawn two matches against the Cherries, last beating them 0-1 in May.
- Aston Villa will come into this match after picking up a win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa League. In what was a controversial game that saw away fans unable to attend, goals from Ian Maatsen and Donyell Malen won the night for Unai Emery's side.
- Bournemouth were beaten by Manchester City 3-1 last week, snapping a run of eight matches unbeaten in the Premier League. However, the game was not one-sided by any means and saw Bournemouth actually enjoy more possession (52%) than Pep Guardiola's side.
- While Bournemouth's overall form has been fantastic this season, it is worth noting that they haven't been quite as strong away as they have been at home. In fact, they have not won away since beating Tottenham Hotspur on August 30.

This game promises to be a close one to call. On one hand, Aston Villa have an excellent recent record against Bournemouth, have the home advantage, and were able to win on Thursday despite resting some key men.
On the other hand, though, Bournemouth have been hugely impressive in the early part of the current season, have some dangerous attacking players, and were on a tremendous run before losing last weekend.
Based on the away side having some added rest, then, it's tempting to pick them to win, but Villa's strong record against the Cherries means a draw is the prediction.
