Wuthering Waves reveals new Tunability mechanic ahead of Lahai-Roi update

Wuthering Waves has recently unveiled a bunch of details regarding the Lahai-Roi update, and it appears that the patch will introduce a new combat mechanic called Tunability. It will presumably allow Resonators to quickly shred a Tacet Discord's Vibration Strength and interrupt their attack patterns. Tunability will also send the target into a Mistuned state, making them vulnerable to a Tune break.

Wuthering Waves unveils new Tunability mechanic

Kuro Games has shared quite a few details regarding the Wuthering Waves’ Lahai-Roi update. So far, players have gotten a glimpse of the upcoming characters, Echoes, and the Tunability mechanic. The combat changes are expected to drop with the version 3.0 update.

Here’s everything revealed about the Tunability mechanic in WuWa:

Off-Tune Level and Mistune

• Whenever a Resonator attacks an enemy, it will build up Off-Tune Level on the target, denoted by a white marker.
• Once the Off-Tune Level reaches its maximum threshold, the enemy will enter the Mistuned state.
• They become highly susceptible, and the slightest attack will trigger the Tune Break. The effect causes the targets to receive additional damage and resets their Off-Tune Level.

Tune Break Skill

• Against powerful enemies, cast Tune Break Skill after they enter the Mistuned State and when their Off-Tune Level is maxed to shatter their defense. Doing so will also trigger a Tune Break.
• A Resonator’s Tune Break Skill deals damage to enemies, reduces their Vibration Strength, interrupts their attack patterns, and resets the Off-Tune Level.

Based on this information, we can assume that every Resonator will gain the ability to cast the Tune Break Skill following the Lahai-Roi update. Kuro Games will probably integrate this new move with the character’s existing combo instead of allocating a separate input.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how Tunability will shape the combat system going forward. This new mechanic is expected to enhance the viability of the existing roster and simultaneously favor the upcoming Resonators. Speaking of which, the recent Wuthering Waves drip marketing campaign has teased Mornye and Lynae from version 3.0.

These new characters will likely employ Tunability to its fullest potential. Kuro Games will certainly add tougher Tacet Discord and bosses beyond the Lahai-Roi update. To defeat them, players might have to master the new combat mechanic and, by extension, the Tune Break Skill.
