Wuthering Waves 2.8 preload guide and update size

Kuro Games has rolled out the Wuthering Waves 2.8 preload option before the major update on November 20, 2028. The feature will ensure quicker access to the patch, considering players download all the resource files ahead of time. Version 2.8 is brimming with exciting content like the vibrant Chornorift Metropolis map and a two-story quest that Rovers will certainly want to tune in for.

Unfortunately, the preload feature is exclusively available for the PC platform this time. Those playing on Android and iOS devices can complete the installation only after the update goes live.

Dear Rover, To bring you exciting new content and a better gaming experience, we will soon be conducting the update maintenance for Version 2.8: To the City Set in Amber. During the maintenance, you will be unable to log in to the game, so please plan your time accordingly.

The Wuthering Waves 2.8 preload for PC started on November 18, 2025, at 10 am (UTC+8). The feature can be accessed from the official Kuro Games launcher, provided you have the game installed.

How to preload on PC

• Head to the Kuro Games Launcher on PC. Update the application if you don’t have the latest version.
• Find the new version pre-download option on the launcher interface. It should appear beside the Start button, denoted with a downward arrow icon.
• Clicking on the button will open a pop-up window showing the preload file size and total storage requirement. You can also determine whether your system has the available space to initiate the process.
• Press the Confirm Download button to begin preloading the patch files.

As always, you can log in to the game and play on PC with the pre-download process running in the background. You can also pause it at any given time. Doing so wouldn’t disrupt the process; it will only speed up the final installation to a certain degree.

The WuWa 2.8 preload size on PC is roughly 20 GB. However, you are advised to keep additional storage space available as the total resource package decompresses after the final installation. The total update size is slated to be around 30 GB for PC.

Unfortunately, we don’t have information regarding the storage requirements on mobile devices. Players will have to wait for the update to find out. On a brighter side, Kuro Games has added several controller supports for mobile in version 2.8.
