Where Winds Meet walkthrough: How to complete The Silent Assassin side quest

The Silent Assassin is a side quest in Where Winds Meet that you come across quite early into their adventure. The Lost Chapter mission is initiated by Long Wu, an NPC from Moonveil Mountain who harbors the desire to kill a legendary assassin in Qinghe. Your primary task is to locate him and deliver a relic that unveils the truth about the legendary figure.

While you do not participate in the hunt, the quest directs you to join the NPC in the Jadebrook Mountain later to discover the outcome, along with the truth. Your efforts will also be rewarded with Echo Jades, Coins, and other resources. That said, completing The Silent Assassin side quest in Where Winds Meet is not mandatory, but doing so is required to achieve 100% completion.

How to complete The Silent Assassin side quest in Where Winds Meet

Interacting with Long Wu is crucial to progressing various missions, including the Palace of Annals Campaign quest in Where Winds Meet. You will initially find him resting at the roof of General's Shrine. To quickly reach his location, fast travel to the Boundary Stone and head north.

Now, you have to exhaust his dialogue options a couple of times to get his quest markers on the map. If he is not interested in talking, come back during the Hai Hour and try again.

Upon successfully completing all the interactions, progress through the main quest, if you haven't already. It will lead you to the Moonveil Mountain area, and you will eventually come across Long Wu near the Front Mountain Boundary Stone, across the Hall of Seasons.

Get the Buddha's Light Jade-Yang

Talk to Long Wu to proceed with the Palace of Annals Campaign. You must defeat the Lucky Seventeen boss in the main story quest to get the Buddha's Light Jade-Yang item. Once you have it, bring it back to Long Wu at Moonveil Mountain to progress The Silent Assassin side quest.

Go to Jadebrook Mountain to uncover the truth behind the 'Legend'

Upon offering the Buddha's Light Jade-Yang relic, Long Wu will share his plans to chase the legendary assassin, Tian Ying. He will ask you to find him later at the Jadebrook Mountain. Complete the conversation and head to the next quest market in Qinghe. It will lead you to a waterfall near a cave opening.

Climb up to the high ground to find a fatally wounded Long Wu. Talk to the NPC before he passes away to complete the The Silent Assassin side quest in Where Winds Meet.
