Bodhi Sea can be a very confusing Campaign in Where Winds Meet due to its Soulslike Poisonous Swamp design. No matter what you do, do not walk across the poisonous swamp in the deep areas because there are crocodiles that will devour you. It’s incredibly slow, and you’ll want to avoid that at all costs. Thankfully, we’ve completed this area and downed the boss, Ye Wenshan. He’s important because you can unlock the powerful Flaming Meteor Mystic Art.
However, that's not the only reason you need to head to this area. Bodhi Sea in Where Winds Meet is required if you want to complete the final Qinghe side quest, The Promised Light. The Jade the boss drops is needed to open the dungeon in the first place, in addition to the other requirements.
How to complete Bodhi Sea Campaign in Where Winds Meet
The Bodhi Sea Campaign in Where Winds Meet can be a very short one if you know exactly where to go. The overall gimmick of the campaign is to sound a trio of drums, and then speak to Zhang Yinmang. This will trigger the path to the boss.

The downside is that this area is covered in a poisonous muck, and walking through it is fatal if you go too far. However, we’ve completed the Campaign and will guide to the end.
Bodhi Sea objectives
- A sudden drumming echoes across the long-deserted Bodhi Sea
- Ask Zhang Yinmang to stop drumming
- Pick up the items Ye Wenshan left behind
1) A sudden drumming echoes across the long-deserted Bodhi Sea (sound the drums)

The most important step is to safely sound the drums in this Where Winds Meet side quest. From the Wayfarer of Sundara Land, drop down into the Bodhi Sea, taking care not to drop too far. Just drop down from the spawn-in point next to the Wayfarer until you hit the ground.
You’ll see some sound notifications on your screen, and if you aim your camera at them, it’ll lead you to the drums. What I did is, once I hit the ground, I took the left path around the swamp. After a short walk, you’ll see a tree on the other side of some swampy water. This is safe to walk across.

Follow the path forward, and you’ll find a Buddha statue, a drum, and a couple of enemy soldiers. If you’re stealthy enough, you can get the drop on them with Touch of Death. Otherwise, you have to fight them normally, but they aren’t tough. When the soldiers are down, walk up to strike the first drum.
After a cutscene, walk across the nearby log to safely grab a treasure chest. If you head down into the cave behind it, you'll find a secondary treasure chest, so pick that one up too for some free rewards. Follow the path, and you’ll come to a small village.

This is where Zhang Yinmang is. He doesn’t matter until you sound all three drums, but you can get to the remaining ones from here. If you go inside one of the buildings, you’ll be able to pick up an Old Ledger, which is a hint for one of the Wandering Tales.

Use the sound clue on your screen to guide you out of the village. It will guide you over another series of planks that lead to more soldiers and another drum. If you cannot assassinate these foes, they will come back to life once after you defeat them. Don’t stress about them and take them down to sound the second drum for Where Winds Meet’s Bodhi Sea.

You’ll see another cutscene and another visual cue that will lead you to the next drum to strike in Where Winds Meet's Bodhi Sea. Predictably, you will once again encounter soldiers to fight. In my case, the visual cue led me into the village and then back out another path. Walk towards the direction the sound icon leads you. Defeat the soldiers, claim the treasure chest on top of the boat, and sound the third drum.
2) Go back and ask Zhang Yinmang to stop drumming; inspect the situation inside the illusion

Now you can go back to the village, and speak to Zhang Yinmang to ask him to stop drumming for the final stop in this Where Winds Meet quest. Before you can get to him though, the world will change into an unsettling illusionary state, and a cutscene will play.
Just walk down the path slowly and listen to what all the spirits are saying. At the end, you’ll come across a Hero’s Tomb to interact with. This means you’re at the boss of Where Winds Meet’s Bodhi Sea, Ye Wenshan.

He’s a mounted foe, and your primary objective is going to be to parry all his attacks except the golden one. Ye Wenshan has pretty slow attacks, so they’re easy for you to parry. The only catch is the red attacks. There’s a little bit of a delay, so timing your parry against those might be tricky. That said, parrying a red attack sees you use an incredible counter attack. Just take the first phase nice and easy, parrying his attacks and dealing damage when you can.
When the foe reaches Phase 2, he will light his weapons on fire and get just a bit more aggressive. When you see the golden attack, he will throw his weapons at you, so focus on dodging those. This attack cannot be parried. Ye Wenshan's attacks are still pretty slow though, so you shouldn’t have any trouble parrying them to wear down his Qi meter.
3) Pick up the items Ye Wenshan left behind

Once the boss is defeated, you just need to pick up the loot in the building ahead of you, and that will wrap Bodhi Sea in Where Winds Meet. This will also unlock the Ye Wenshan fight for you in the Campaign mode if you want to farm him for more rewards and the Flaming Meteor Mystic Art.
