Where Winds Meet walkthrough: To Heal or Not To Heal (How to heal the Goose)

The To Heal or Not To Heal side quest in Where Winds Meet is one of the earliest quests that tests your mastery over the Healer Career. This is a complex quest and will require you to use your Healer skills to inspect and heal the sick Goose near the Qinghe riverbank. If it is not properly leveled and you misread the Goose's condition, the situation can easily become extremely hostile. This berserk Goose can take you down in just a few hits, so it's better to know how to do the quest properly.

In this walkthrough, we will explain how to unlock the quest in Where Winds Meet, how to prepare for it, which skills work, and what to do if you fail in treating the goose.

To attempt this quest, you must be at least Player Level 13, which unlocks the Healer Career. Complete the introductory questline related to the Healer Career with Mu Jian in Mercyheart Town. Once this quest is finished, you will unlock the necessary tools (Wind Sense, prescription, and healing tools) to attempt the To Heal or Not To Heal quest.

But don't just jump right into the quest after getting access to your Healer career. To get a higher success rate of treatment, you must get your Healer Career to at least Initiate Tier 4. Anything below that will result in a failure and the goose going berserk.

To Heal or Not to Heal quest walkthrough

Location: Riverbank behind Heaven’s Pier Village, Qinghe region.

Find the sick Goose resting near the riverbank and interact with it to start the quest.

Step 1: Activate Wind Sense after interacting with the sick Goose

Approach the sick Goose and activate Wind Sense. This will view parts of the Goose that are afflicted by illness, with detailed information about the symptoms. Understanding these symptoms is the most difficult part of this quest.

Step 2: Inspect the symptoms

Once you have activated the Wind Sense, you must play the minigame by choosing the correct treatment option. If you successfully heal the Goose, the quest will end, and you will get the rewards.

Step 3: If you fail to heal the Goose

If you pick the wrong treatment, the Goose will go berserk and start attacking you. The Goos can be very difficult to take down, while it can take you down in just a few hits. The Goose attacks by using very fast, consecutive attacks without wasting a few moments. So avoiding all of its attacks is nearly impossible. If you are playing in co-op mode, the difficulty of the encounter gets higher.

Here's how you can fight the Berserk Goose:

Use the Panacea Fan to heal from a distance.
Using Soulshade Umbrella to gain both sustained and burst heal
Don't try to go head-to-head with the Goose; prioritize dodging.
The Goose can easily stun you, so keep an eye on your endurance bar.

If the fight gets too tough, you can disengage by running away. The goose won't follow you too far.

What to do if you fail the quest?

If you fail to heal the Goose the first time, you can attempt that again. The quest To Heal or Not To Heal resets at 5:00 am local time, and you can attempt the quest again without any penalty.

25x Qinghe Exploration points
100x Enlightenment Points
5000x Experience (EXP)

This quest is a fun and complex way of utilizing your Healer skills in Where Winds Meet. For the early game, this quest grants you a good amount of materials and progression points, but more than that, you have the precise mechanisms revolving around your Healing skills. When done correctly, the quest doesn't take longer than a few minutes. Approached incorrectly, the quest becomes an extremely difficult boss fight.
