How to join the Midnight Blades sect in Where Winds Meet
You’ll find the route to joining the Midnight Blades sect in Where Winds Meet in Qinghe - Sundara Land. If you head up the path towards Halo Peak, you will hear a man crying out for help. In fact, the easiest way to get on this quest, called To Save by Slaying, is to initiate Building: One Last Job, which requires you to be at least level 25. You’ll find it in your Exploration Quests tab.

While running up the path to Halo Peak, you’ll hear the man crying out for help. An icon will appear that guides you to the person, who will declare that they aren’t weak, and then immediately die. You can then Follow the Blood Trail, which will take you south for about 50m.
You can investigate some bodies on the way, so do that, and you’ll see one of them is carrying a damaged decree. Keep going and inspecting bodies, and you’ll come to a man sitting on a rock above you. Go up to them and talk. Your character will realize that this man belongs to the Midnight Blades sect in Where Winds Meet.
He will ask you, after a short conversation, if you have a heart for the Dharma. You’ll get two responses, but we chose My heart is that of Bodhi Heart, and the quest was allowed to proceed.

You’ll be given a decree and told to kill a living being. Thankfully, you don’t have to kill an innocent townsperson or anything. In fact, simply killing a wolf was enough to trigger the next step for me. Once you’ve done that, you can go to the Sects portion of your menu, select Midnight Blades in Where Winds Meet, and choose Join Sect. Pick Midnight Blades, and you should see Join Now. Select Go to Take a Master next.
Return to Icchantika and speak to him. You’ll find them in the same spot as where you met them the first time, but the map above shows the location for you. Fast-travel back and speak to Icchantika once again. When you speak to him, choose Inherit Karmic Burden, join the sect, and give him the Annihilation Decree. Despite mocking your weakness, he’ll still allow you to join. With that, you’re officially in the Midnight Blades in Where Winds Meet.

The Midnight Blades are all about killing without remorse. If you’re too merciful, you violate the order of the sect and will be banished. The goal is to Ascend the Asura path by killing Suffers and stealing their identities/karma. Defeating wanderers builds karma, and being defeated lowers your karma. You can also go to Perception Forest to obtain large amounts of Karma.
You start as a Novice Cultivator and will gain ranks as you fulfill the requirements set out by you. To grow, you’ll need to get 20 kills in the Arena and then slay the Ferryman to retrieve the Faded Decree. From there, you hang that faded decree at the Tree of Sin and meditate to comprehend the Path of Bloodshed.
By clicking on the icons for these, they will show you where to go in-game, so that’s helpful. As you grow in ranks, you’ll be able to access new items in the sect’s shop, such as fantastic cosmetic items that fit the style of the Midnight Blades. These items are purchased with Reputation, which is gained by completing the sect’s commandments. It’s definitely a group for players who like PVP and killing without remorse in games like this.
