Here are the best beginner-friendly weapon combos in Where Winds Meet

1) Dual Blades and Rope Dart

If you want to play a pure damage-based build, then the Dual Blades and the Rope Dart are the best picks currently in Where Winds Meet. The combination of the two enables fast-paced gameplay with constant damage uptime.

The Dual Blades are mainly for close combat and can rain down a flurry of slashes upon enemies. When using the Burst Skill, all of your attacks get increased critical chance and damage. Note that you will need to get it from the quest Oddity - Mystery of Five Tones if you plan on getting Infernal Twinblades early.

At the same time, the Rope Dart is all about crowd control, allowing you to deal damage across a small area and staggering enemies to gain an opening to make a swap and shred them with Dual Blades. The only issue is that you’ll be very close to the bosses most of the time.

2) Spear and Sword

The Spear and Sword are the earliest in-game combo you’ll get. If you don’t want to rush into farming everything, this combination will carry you throughout the early game. Both weapons are damage types and have different Martial Arts to select from.

If you like chaining combos, then pair your weapons with Stormbreaker Spear and Strategic Sword. It creates a perfect balance of defense and offense as the Spear grants Fortitude, while the Sword will excel at applying bleed to enemies.

The combo offers a much safer gameplay style in the early game in Where Winds Meet. Related Martial Arts are available within the starting zone of Qinghe, and you can get them by exploring the Skill Theft dungeons.

3) Fan and Umbrella

If you’re looking to keep your distance from enemies, the Fan and the Umbrella go hand in hand. Both weapons deal ranged damage, giving you more time to react against enemy attacks. Moreover, they are also a great way to self-heal, in case you run out of medicine.

The Umbrella is one of the best damage weapons when used with the Vernal Umbrella Martial Arts, while the Soulshade excels at healing. Similarly, the Fan also has two options: the Inkwell and Panacea, which allow you to choose between DPS and healing.

While using both weapons together, the choice for the damage and healing Martial Arts is up to you, but my recommendation would be healing with the Fan and dealing damage with the Umbrella.

4) Mo Blade and Spear

Speaking of Defensive play, the Mo Blade and Spear weapon combo is the best when it comes to stacking damage reduction in Where Winds Meet. The weapons apply various types of debuffs to enemies, like reducing the damage they deal or making them vulnerable. Additionally, you also gain defensive buffs for further damage reduction.

The only downside is that the attack animations are a little slow, and since both weapons are melee-type, you’ll be prone to being interrupted. However, using the Steadfast Stance Inner Way will help you get better resistance against stagger.

5) Fan and Rope Dart

The Fan and Rope Dart is another good ranged combo that isn’t exactly meta, but good enough for most content. Getting suitable Martial Arts for both is also easy during the early game. The Mortal Rope Dart is available by joining the Nine Mortal Ways, one of the sects in Where Winds Meet.

For the Panacea Fan, you can use the Skill Theft in the related dungeon within the Bamboo Abode area of the Qinghe region. The weapons grant you a mix of damage and healing, which is great for boss fights.
