The Game Awards' mysterious demonic monolith: Which game is it all about?

Let's begin with background information. The statue was shown by Geoff Keighley and The Game Awards on November 29, 2025. Neither of the two sources provided any substantial information about the monolith, revealing only its location and appearance.

The statue is a giant 8-foot-tall demonic monolith with twisted animals, demons, and other creatures embedded into one another as if melting together in an evil ceremony. The center part of the statue looks like an eye, and the whole thing lights up with a red glow at night. This red glow may represent the highly anticipated sequel to Bloodborne. This could certainly be the case since Bloodborne is a very popular game with no sequel.

A new Bloodborne title could take on an entirely new direction since the last one was released approximately a decade ago in 2015. These demonic creatures and animals could represent a certain part of the story. The symbols and designs certainly feel similar to the works of FromSoftware games.

If this is not Blooborne, it could be a new installment in the DOOM series, given the obvious demonic themes of the Xbox title.

However, considering the iconography of the statue, another upcoming title it could represent is Saros by Housemarque. The monolith's design appears similar to some of the enemies shown in the game's recent trailers.

Finally, a report by MP1st suggested that the statue bears a striking resemblance to recent icons trademarked for an upcoming game in the Divinity franchise by Larian Studios. The icons and images were astoundingly similar, and at the Game Awards 2025, it was finally revealed that the statue was indeed a reference to the upcoming game known simply as Divinity.

According to veteran gaming journalist Jason Schreier, the massive statue does not represent Bethesda's Elder Scrolls 6. Schreir also confirmed that it has nothing to do with Diablo 4. Both of these confirmations came directly from the journalist via the popular gaming forum, ResetEra.

Apart from this, Sony Santa Monica Director Cory Barlog also confirmed on a Twitch live chat that the statue does not have any relation to a new God of War game. This helps narrow down certain options.

Finally, a Lords of the Fallen title has also been debunked by CI Games' CEO and Founder, Marek Tyminski. Therefore, many popular developers have already revealed that The Game Awards' statue does not represent their known IPs, which certainly helps the speculating fans make more accurate guesses and predictions about it.

Overall, the statue could represent anything. It may even be a brand new IP entering the gaming market with a bang. The Game Awards will be held on December 11, 2025, where fans will finally find out the truth once all new games are revealed.
