How did Kuuvahki originate in Genshin Impact?

In Genshin Impact's Nod-Krai region, we learn about Kuuvahki being described as a pure and ancient form of energy connected to the Moons of Teyvat: Eternal, Iridescent, and the Frost Moon in ancient history.
