Battlefield 6 continues to build momentum, and EA has now officially announced that it is the best-selling shooting game of 2025. This news comes after months of hype and two of the biggest playtests on Steam, one of which broke the record for the highest concurrent player count during a beta test on Steam. Interestingly, the game currently sits at a Mixed rating on Steam, with criticism regarding microtransactions and the failure of the free battle royale mode.

Electronic Arts has updated the official Battlefield 6 website with a small message at the top in an orange banner that reads:

This suggests the game is ahead of other popular shooters such as Call of Duty Black Ops 7, ARC Raiders, and more. Earlier, Alinea Analytics reported that Battlefield 6 had sold over 6.5 million copies in the first week, generating over $350 million in gross revenue.

Current data from popular analytics websites such as PlayTracker and Gamalytic suggests that the game has sold anywhere between 8.5 to 9 million copies on PC alone. Considering all the information we have so far, it is safe to assume that the game might have sold over 10 million copies across all the supported platforms in less than two months.

For those wondering, the game seems to have benefited from strong early reception and word-of-mouth. As mentioned before, it had the most successful beta test on Steam ever, and the game had a Mostly Positive rating on Steam until the release of Redsec.

If the momentum continues and the developers push updates based on the community feedback, Battlefield 6 may end the year as one of the biggest overall releases this year.
