To Dust You Shan't Return is the fourth quest of the Mysteria Ecclesiae in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. It starts immediately after completing the Silent Witnesses quest and can be played simultaneously with the Seek and You Shall Find quest. However, it's recommended to complete the To Dust You Shan't Return quest first. Its main objective is to investigate the recently occurred incident where a house was burnt down.

To Dust You Shan't Return quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesiae: Walkthrough

The To Dust You Shan't Return quest starts with an interesting cutscene and a subsequent conversation with Albich and others. During that, choose the prompts:

So how did they die?
Who took them out?
We need to find out who's behind this.
I'll search the burnt-down house.
I'll question the witness.
It's dangerous, I'll go.
I can always bribe the guard / You said yourself it's important.
What exactly am I looking for?

After this, you must complete three different tasks. It also marks the beginning of the Seek and You Shall Find quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesiae.

Inspect the recovered bodies

First, make your way to the recovered dead bodies from the fire. To do that, exit the infirmary and move towards the camp in the north by distracting the only guard standing in the way (by throwing a rock).

Then, take the northwest path and reach the required location. You can then take one of these two approaches to get inside the building:

Option 1: Convince the guard

Talk to the guard there, and choose these prompts to convince him:

Albich sent me to examine the bodies.
Choose any preferred option if you have high stats on Scholarship, Survival, or Persuasion.

You can also select "I'll pay you to let me in" and bribe the guard.

Option 2: Unlock the door from the other side

You can also go to the other side of the building and use a lockpick to unlock the door. Its difficulty rating is Very Hard, but the process can be hassle-free if done successfully.

After entering the location, choose to examine the bodies and select these prompts:

Examine the younger one:

Examine the head.
Open the mouth (need a high Scholarship stat) / Inspect the hair
Taste it.
Examine hands.
Check the bruises (need a high Scholarship stat) / Examine the palm and fingers (need a high Craftsmanship stat)
Examine the body.
Examine the blood.

Examine the older one:

Examine the head.
What could've caused the wound? (need a high Scholarship stat; otherwise, choose Back)
Examine hands.
Inspect the fingers and palms. (need a high Scholarship stat; otherwise, choose Back)
Examine the body.
Inspect the skin blotches.

Lastly, choose "Let's sum it up..." to finish the inspection.

Search the scene of the fire

Proceed south, take the path in the middle of the hatcheries, and avoid the guards to reach the burnt-down building. If you see a guard blocking your path, wait a while, and they will eventually leave the place.

After reaching the required location, you must inspect several elements. First, examine the wine bottle on the doorway.

Enter the building on the east and examine the flour sacks.

Then, inspect the torch on the water in the middle.

Lastly, examine the clothes and the oil on the ground.

Question the witness to the fire

Follow this path to enter the monastery easily (Image via Deep Silver)

From there, you have to find a way inside the monastery. Reach the building area, and then take the nearby door to enter. Make sure to crouch-walk and avoid the patrolling guards.

Upon entering, immediately take the door on the right, continue forward, and then take the stairs on the right to reach the monk's dormitory. Call Elijah's name, and then ask the monks about his location to learn he's currently down in the cellar.

Now, go down the stairs, proceed through the monastery kitchen, and enter through the door on the west to reach the cellar.

Take the stairs to the underground, proceed south, and then to the east to find Elijah standing there. Speak with him and choose these dialogues:

I understand, but I need to find out what happened.
What were you doing outside at night?
Really just chance? (need a high Drinking stat) / If you say so.
Was anyone else there?
What did you do after the fire?
Do you know who they were?
Confirm the infection (need successful inspection of the bodies)
Flour in the hair. (need successful inspection of the bodies)
Scratches on the back. (need successful inspection of the bodies)
You couldn't have known they were already dead.

Found out how the bodies ended up in the shed

Return to the kitchen using the same pathway, exit the monastery, and proceed to the building area outside. Afterward, use the ladders to move to the other side of the wall.

Navigate through the ditch and continue forward.

Then, find a cart and some rose bushes on the left, and follow the dragging marks to the east.

Next, jump over the barrels, enter the building through the window, and reach the other side. Continue on the eastern pathway until you arrive at the herbalist's house.

Search the herbalist's house

Enter the herbalist's house to start a cutscene. At the end of it, you must defeat Denes in a 1v1 battle. Following that, you can talk to the herbalist and choose these dialogues:

First I need to ask something.
Why did you set the shed on fire?
You were trying to treat them?

Confront Zacharias

From there, follow the northern pathway to reach the infirmary and find Albich and Zacharias drinking together. After the cutscene, choose these prompts:

Have you lost your mind?
I'll help him myself.
I thought Albich was your friend.
Will you trade the records for the antidote?

Lastly, choose any of the preferred options to end the To Dust You Shan't Return quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesiae. It also marks the beginning of The Time Has Come quest.
