After arriving at the Sedletz monastery and starting the Anamnesis quest, Henry will meet Albich at the infirmary. When you're taking an exit from that location, you can find a lady named Maddie who is vocal about her current sickness.

Interact with Maddie, and choose the following prompts:

• How long has it been hurting?
• What were you doing before it started?
• Alright, I'll help you.
• I'll try to diagnose you (if you have a high Scholarship stat) / I'll try and ask in the infirmary.

After that, the Maddening Pain task in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesiae begins.

However, do remember to finish this objective before completing the main DLC quest, Anamnesis. It is because the Maddening Pain task will become unavailable from the start of the next quest in the story.

While there are optional paths during the Maddening Pain task to help Maddie cure her pain, the only thing that works is listening to Albich and brewing the anti-inflammatory potion. Here are the steps:

Speak with Albich at the infirmary

Firstly, talk to Albich at the infirmary and ask for his advice on Maddie's pain. Choose the prompt "How can I help Maddie?" to receive the anti-inflammatory potion recipe.

Brew the potion at the infirmary

After obtaining the anti-inflammatory potion recipe, navigate to the backside of the infirmary to reach the alchemy room. Now, open your inventory, learn the recipe, and select the option to show it in the recipe book.

Ensure you have these three ingredients:

• Nettle x1 (Found outside the infirmary building)
• Valerian x2 (Found outside the infirmary building)
• Ginger x1 (Found inside the alchemy room's closet)

Then, select to start alchemy, and follow these steps:

• Open the book and turn to the anti-inflammatory potion page.
• Press and hold the Prepare button.
• Pour water into the cauldron as a base.
• Take Nettle and throw it inside the Mortar → Grind the Nettle.
• Drop the ground Nettle inside the cauldron.
• Move down the cauldron.
• Select Bellows → Boil it for 1 turn (use the sandglass to know) → Move up the cauldron
• Take Valerian → Throw inside the cauldron
• Move down the cauldron → Bellows → Boil it for 2 turns (use the sandglass to know) → Move up the cauldron
• Take Ginger → Grind it using the Mortar → Drop the ground Ginger inside the cauldron.
• Prepare the phial from the left and Pour.

After this process, you will successfully receive the anti-inflammatory potion.

Optional tasks during the mission

1) Put in a good word for Maddie with Benedict

After starting the quest, you can speak to novice Benedict and ask for help to cure Maddie's pain. Find him at the infirmary, interact, and choose these prompts:

• Yes.
• I need a potion for a girl.
• Please, help me.

With this, you will receive the weak digestive potion. However, it will not cure Maddie's pain.

2) Search the library

You can visit the monastery library and pick up "The Rose Garden" book. Then, open it from the inventory and read all the pages.

After brewing the anti-inflammatory potion appropriately, visit the camp area in the northern part of the location. Find and interact with Maddie there, then select these prompts:
