Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesiae walkthrough: How to complete Anamnesis quest

Anamnesis is the second quest of the Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and it starts immediately after completing The Royal Physician quest. Its main objective is to investigate the connections among patients who are currently suffering from the same diseases at the Sedletz monastery.

Anamnesis quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesiae: Walkthrough

Take a tour of the monastery

After the Anamnesis quest starts, you can take an optional tour of the Sedletz monastery. Proceed to the green B marker on the map and interact with Brother Petromil sitting under a tree.

Next, choose the prompt "Will you show me around the monastery?" to start the tour. You can then use the auto follow key to easily navigate behind Brother Petromil to different locations in the area. During the tour, you can also ask numerous questions to learn more about the Sedletz monastery and its various aspects.

The tour will end when you arrive at the infirmary.

Talk to Albich

Next, enter the infirmary and interact with Albich. During the conversation, select the following dialogues:

Examine the monk (if you have a high Scholarship stat) / Hard to say.
Nod.
Say nothing.
Albich's protector.
What did you find out?
Is this suitable food? (if you have a high Scholarship stat) / Say nothing.
Who is this Joachim?

Afterwards, you can ask various questions for a better idea of what to do next during the Anamnesis quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesiae.

Speak with Confessor Stephen

Following the conversation with Albich, the first person you need to speak to is Confessor Stephen. You can find him in the infirmary, lying on a bed. Interact with him, and choose the following prompts:

We're trying to find the source of the illness (if you have a high Scholarship stat) / Albich sent me.
This isn't just about you. (need a high Persuasion stat)

If you succeed, you will receive Confessor Stephen's cell key. He will also ask you to bring him some flowers. Choose the option "I'll bring you some." You can then collect some flowers outside the infirmary and give them to the Confessor.

Then, navigate to his cell, use the key to unlock the door, and search inside. Specifically, examine the flowers on the shelf and search the chest (after opening it using the lockpick) to complete the objective.

Note: When you exit the infirmary, you'll see a lady named Maddie who is concerned about her illness. Interact with Maddie to start the Maddening Pain task. Notably, you can complete it only before finishing the Anamnesis quest.

Speak with Steward Zdenyek

The next task of the Anamnesis is to interact with Steward Zdenyek, who is located at the northern segment of the monastery area. During the conversation, choose the following dialogues:

What can you tell me about Blazhena?
What does Blazhena do?
You won't tell me more?
Who did she talk to?
Where does she sleep?
Where can I find Valerie?

Speak with Valerie

Now, turn around from Zdenyek's location to find Valerie mopping the ground. Talk to her and select these dialogues:

What can you tell me about Blazhena?
Why are you so tense? (If you choose "Pity," you must distract Zdenyek so he leaves the area, and then talk to Valerie to progress.)
I'll protect you. (Need a high persuasion stat, and if you succeed in the previous prompt. You can also distract Zdenyek.)
Said she was stealing.
How do you know Zdenyek's lying?
What did he take from the chest?
Where does Zdenyek sleep?
Back to Blazhena → Why would he make it up?
Why would he want to get rid of her?
Did Blazhena have a suitor?
Where did Blazhena go around?
She'll be fine.

Next, enter the "I" marked building nearby. Go through the door on the right and reach upstairs to find Blazhena's room.

Then, open the chest to learn that she has a lot of Groschen. You can pick up the pantry key from the table beside the bed.

Search the cellar

Following that, navigate near the "J" symbol on the map and take the stairs leading underground to reach the cellar. Next, complete the following tasks:

Enter the room on the left (southeast) to inspect the barrels.
Enter the room on the west and inspect the tubs.
Lastly, use a lockpick to enter the room in the north and inspect the floor, the tubs, and the barrels.

Confront Steward Zdenyek

Now, exit the cellar, and interact with Zdenyek. If you have distracted him while talking to Valerie, he will be situated in the southwest part of the monastery. While talking to him, choose the following dialogue:

I know you're watering it down.
Let's go. (Follow him.)
And what if I don't keep quiet?
You won't scare me with a stick. (need a high Intimidation stat) / Choose "Fine" to start a battle.

While Zdenyek wields a weapon, you must defeat him using only fists. After winning the battle, talk to him and select these prompts:

Give me your axe.
Why did you lie about Blazhena?
Don't insult her!
I won't report you.

With this, you will receive Blazhena's key.

Speak with librarian Crispin

The next objective of the Anamnesis quest is to interact with librarian Crispin. You can find him in the library, located in the south of the monastery. While speaking with him, select these prompts:

What do you know about Brother Jaroslav?
Where does Jaroslav sleep?
What was he doing here?
What's the Decameron about?
Where did he work?

Check Jaroslav's belongings

After talking to the librarian, go to the "P" marker in the library, read the book, and turn the page. Make sure to pick the key for Jaroslav's chest from there.

Next, go to the subsequent "P" marker by taking the stairs to go up and reach Jaroslav's room. Open the chest using the previously acquired key to find the Old Cellar Plans.

Speak with monk Celestine

Go down, exit the room, and enter through the door on the left. Go straight, take the left, and find monk Celestine in there.

Speak with him, and choose these dialogue prompts:

What do you know about Jaroslav?
How does he spend his time?
He's not doing well.
How does he spend his time?
He hasn't translated much lately.
I promise.
Where did he go?
Where exactly did you lose him?
Why didn't you tell me?
Do you know if he's been seeing the confessor?
That's enough for now.

Search the monastery cellar

While the next task is to search the monastery cellar, reaching there can be tricky. First, navigate to the specific area shown in the image above.

Then, go through the door, proceed left, and at the end of it, take the right side's door to reach the cellar.

After going down the stairs, examine the eastern section. Jump over there, proceed forward, and go through the wooden door to find monk Vojtech.

While talking to him, choose these prompts:

What book do you mean?
That book is empty.
What was Jaroslav working on down here?
What did Jaroslav want to write about?
I like that.
That's true.
Tell me one of your jokes.
Change topic.
Who's Brother Ernest?
He's not ill, is he?
Who wrote the book?
I've heard enough.
I won't say a word.

Check on Brother Ernest

Afterward, exit the monastery cellar using the same path you took. Then, open the second door from the right to reach Ernest's cell. Examine the table and unlock the chest using the previously acquired key from the library.

Report to Albich

Lastly, return to Albich's location at the infirmary and speak with him. During that, choose these options:

The overseer is dead.
I expected it; he was old.
I discovered a secret scriptorium.
I'll just give you the main points.
Stephen had jewellery on him.

After going to Abbot, you can choose not to talk about the secret scriptorium if you have a high Persuasion stat. Otherwise, reveal the secret to proceed. Lastly, select "I found plans on him" and "I ought to examine the crypt."

With this, the Anamnesis quest of the Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 comes to an end. The next quest in the story, Silent Witnesses, immediately starts after the cutscene.
