How does Metroid Prime 4 Beyond run on Nintendo Switch?

While Nintendo has not been as clear about the game on the original hardware, we do know that it is confirmed to be 60 FPS on Nintendo Switch. This is in line with past series installments, including Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, all of which were 60 FPS on their respective consoles as well.
As for resolution, things are murkier; based on Metroid Prime Remastered, which is based on the tech driving Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, we can safely assume it will operate at around 900p. That said, it is reasonable to expect a bit of a lower bound this time due to the more ambitious levels and visuals on display.
While the remaster of the iconic Nintendo GameCube game had relatively boxed-in environments, this new entry boasts a much bigger scope. This is not just due to the vastly more details and varied biomes across the Planet Viewros, but also due to the inclusion of a sandbox desert area that connects all these biomes together, which can be traversed on a bike.
Regardless of the platform played on, this will be the same experience on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, with the exact same features and content, since this is essentially a Switch 1 port to Switch 2. As such, fans purchasing the game on the older machine will not have to worry about missing out on anything.
Metroid Prime 4 Beyond launches on December 4, 2025, for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms.
