Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive is an action-packed adventure based on the popular manhwa of the same name, and arrives on PC and console as a complete rendition of the free-to-play release. That said, those diving into Sung Jinwoo's journey to become the best hunter in the world for the first time may be wondering if the game has any kind of character creation.
Sadly, that was not the case with the original launch, and this Overdrive release does nothing to change that fact. Here is everything to know about the character creation, or lack thereof, in Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive.

Why is there no character creation in Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive?

As previously mentioned, Sung Jinwoo is the main character of this game, as the journey focuses on him becoming stronger by battling powerful foes and monsters. This means there is no room for a custom character to be included in the story.
Worry not, as the game does feature character customization via outfits. These allow players to dress up Jinwoo in various attire, most of which is unlocked via standard story progression. That said, there are additional Hunters that can be recruited across the game.
These are different playable characters from the series and allow players to take on even stronger foes thanks to their unique tactics and perks brought to the table, like different elements and roles. However, as discussed before, no true character creation exists at all in Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive.
What platforms in Solo Leveling Arise Overdrive on?
Originally launched as Solo Leveling Arise, a free-to-play action-RPG on Android and iOS in 2024, publisher Netmarble brought the game to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S as a paid launch on November 24, 2025. This reworks the base game in numerous ways to make it a more traditional console game.
This includes replacing the gacha system with a Recruitment mechanic for the unlockable Hunters. There are no daily caps for grinding either, so those who enjoyed the mobile experience and want a vastly superior, non-restrictive game can go for this console and PC version, though it is pricey at $40 USD at launch.
