How to get Free Morph Skill in Where Winds Meet

Before anything else, you must have already cleared the main story quest (The Promised Light) of Tian Ying, where you get the Yaksha Rush Skill as a reward.

Next, follow the steps:

• Open your menu.
• Head to Wandering Paths.
• Select Challenges.
• Choose the Tian Ying encounter.

You’ll see an icon where the reward should be, but the game won’t tell you the actual condition. That’s where the hidden requirement comes in.

Beat Tian Ying’s first phase normally

Start the fight and play Phase 1 as you did in the story encounter. You don’t need to do anything special here just take him down and push him into Phase 2.

Watch for the eye icon

When Phase 2 begins, look to the right of Tian Ying’s health bar. You’ll see a floating eye symbol with a ring around it. That ring is a proficiency meter, and filling it is what unlocks Free Morph.

Deflect his spinning kicks

The only way to fill that meter is to parry the spinning kick attack he does during Phase 2.

• The move is fast but has a clear rhythm.
• If you’re struggling with timing, switch your game difficulty to Story.
• Story Mode adds visual indicators that make parrying much easier without affecting the unlock.

Every successful parry adds progress to the eye meter. When the ring fully closes around the eye, the requirement is complete.

Finish the fight

Once the eye meter is full, just defeat Tian Ying normally. After he falls, you’ll automatically receive Free Morph, added directly to your Mystic Skill list.
