The Bleed status effect in Where Winds Meet allows you to deal passive damage to enemies. However, not all weapons can apply this effect. One of the easiest ways to do so is by using the ‘Fivefold Bleed’ Inner Way. It grants a 10% chance to all of your attacks to apply one stack of ‘Weeping Blood’ on enemies.
Additionally, reaching five stacks will instantly deal Piercing damage that will take out a chunk of the enemy's health bar. To unlock it, you’ll need to complete ‘A Faltering Flame’ exploration quest, and this guide will take you through all the necessary steps to do so.

How to complete A Faltering Flame and unlock Fivefold Bleed in Where Winds Meet

A Faltering Flame grants you access to the related Tome that unlocks Fivefold Bleed. To start the quest, you’ll need to gain access to the Kaifeng region in Where Winds Meet. More specifically, you need to enter the Grand Imperial Temple in Kaifeng City, where you’ll need to talk with the Lamp-lighting Monk.

Once you’re within the walls of Kaifeng City, look for the Grand Imperial Temple in the middle=right section of the city. An easy way to find the place is to look for red walls with emerald colored tiles on top. Once inside, talk to the Monk in the shrine, and he’ll task you with finding three of his friends.
Note that each Monk appears on a separate day. After finding one, use the clock to fast-forward to the next day. The Monks appear randomly, so check all locations.
First Monk location

To find the first Monk, go outside the shrine and head straight towards the opposite building. Then, turn left to find a Monk named Benelovent Li near a big tree. Talk to the NPC and he’ll give you a riddle. Select the first option, ‘You thanked the Lamp Monk,’ to get another choice. Now, select the second option, ‘He wants you to turn back’, and the NPC will return to the shrine.
Make your way back and help Benelovent Li ignite the first lamp. The process requires you to solve a mini-game by clicking and moving the lamps to bring the correct one to the other side.
Second Monk location

The second Monk is inside the left building after you exit the shrine of the Lamp-lighting Monk. Head to the front entrance to find a blind NPC named Mingniang standing on the left side of the door. This one won’t give you a riddle, so head straight to the shrine after the conversation.
Head back to the shrine and help Mingniang ignite the second lamp. Once again, you’ll need to solve a similar puzzle mini-game, but this time, two lamps will be locked.

Third Monk Location

The third Monk is near the same spot as the first one. After you exit the shrine, head back to the opposite building, and you’ll find an NPC named Deng Santong up the stairs. The conversation with this one will be short, so speak to him and return to the shrine.
Before you can light the lamp, Deng Santong will challenge you to a fight. Defeat him and move on to light the final lamp. This time, the puzzle will have two connected lamps, but it is easy to solve.
