Drifter in Risk of Rain 2 is one of the newest survivors added with the Alloyed Collective DLC. For those who don't know, it's not unlocked by default, and players are required to complete a multi-step process tied to the new bosses. While this sounds difficult, the good news is that you don't need any special items to unlock Drifter.

How to unlock Drifter in Risk of Rain 2 Alloyed Collective

To unlock the Drifter in Risk of Rain 2, you need to defeat Solus Wing, the new boss that was introduced in the Alloyed Collective DLC. While this sounds straightforward, there are a lot of boss fights, and the overall process is quite lengthy.

Firstly, start a normal run and reach the third stage using your preferred build. Once reached, look around for a red access node. Activate it and defeat the boss just like usual. After clearing the fight, a new encrypted portal will appear. This portal takes you to the Conduit Canyon location.

Once you enter it, you will find a new enemy type with large shields. Defeat them to get the Sentry Keys. Place the Sentry Keys inside the Sentry Terminals that are scattered across the map. Once you have opened enough number of terminals, you will open the other half of the map. There, you have to defeat the elite enemies, collect more keys, and activate three more Sentry Terminals.

Finally, a new teleporter would appear that spawns a Soulless Control Unit. Once you defeat it, another boss named Alloy Hunter appears on the map. Play safe and be aware of the surroundings, as this fight could become overwhelming very quickly. Defeat the boss, and teleport to the Solutional Haunt.

In this area, head down the large tunnel and defeat the Solus Wing. Once defeated, pick up the small round object that it drops. Now, explore the map and find the two Soulless Coffers. Collect all the items that they drop and go back to the area where you fought the Solus Wing. Find the Matrix Terminal and interact with it to unlock Drifter.
