The Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign is the latest add-on of The Forsaken Hollows DLC and built for players who like staying on the offensive. She hits fast, moves faster, and turns every opening into a burst of damage. She’s an abbess sent out from her monastery to take down Night Lords, and it shows in the way her entire kit pushes you toward aggressive, nonstop pressure.
That said, here is how to play Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Best way to play Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign
Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign scales with both Faith and Strength, making hammer-type weapons perfect for her. Her HP scaling is B, while both FP and Stamina sit at C. Since she fights fast and up close, that C in stamina may feel limiting in long encounters, but her kit gives you tools to work around, especially once you master her character skill.

For weapons, stick to Hammers. Because of her A scaling in Faith, certain Faith-based hammers like Envoy’s Horn or Marika’s Hammer hit especially hard. This maximizes her Strength + Faith hybrid scaling. Some Faith hammers get even more value thanks to her A scaling.
Even with high Faith scaling, she cannot reliably recover FP. Her kit pushes you toward melee staying power, not spellcasting. If you're new to the game, you can check out our beginner's guide as well.
Use Trance constantly (Character Skill)
The buffs to toughness, dodge behavior, and combo pressure make this ability core to her rotation. It also lets you stop worrying about stamina while running and dodging. Trance completely changes the pace of how Undertaker plays. When activated:
- Her run becomes as fast as sprinting, without consuming stamina.
- Her toughness and combo damage go up.
- Her dodge becomes a dodge-step, giving her cleaner windows to avoid tight hits.
If her Ultimate Art gauge is full, triggering Trance again empowers her even more:
- Extra attack power
- Faster movement
- A one-time lethal blow dodge, similar to Wylder's trick
If you’re an aggressive player, this is the moment when Undertaker stops feeling limited by stamina and turns into a hyper-mobile damage machine. Use it often.
Fire Ultimates whenever possible
Because of Confluence, you’ll get frequent free Loathsome Hex triggers.
- Use it when an ally uses their ult.
- Use it when purple particles appear.
- Use it anytime it’s glowing.
Pair Undertaker with Duchess
One strong combo is:
- Duchess activates her Ultimate.
- Undertaker gets a free Loathsome Hex from Confluence.
- Undertaker pops her own Ultimate again if the gauge is full.
- Duchess uses Restage, reapplying the last three seconds of damage.
Watch your stamina
Without Trance active, Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign can chew through her stamina bar fast. With Trance active, she can manage it far more comfortably.
Passive Ability: Confluence
Confluence is what allows Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign to play off her teammates. When another player uses their Ultimate, she gets a short window where she can trigger her own Ultimate for free even if her gauge isn’t full.
Confluence can also activate when specific enemy attacks occur, not just ally Ultimates. When it triggers, you’ll see purple particles around her or a purple highlight on her Ultimate icon.
This passive is why she fits so well in comps where multiple ultimates fire back-to-back. The more coordinated your team is, the more busted Undertaker becomes.
Ultimate Art: Loathsome Hex

Loathsome Hex is one of the flashiest, highest-value ultimates in Nightreign. When activated, Undertaker in Elden Ring Nightreign:
- Rips a bone from her own body
- Flies toward the target like a projectile
- Deals heavy, long-range damage
- Can even cast it mid-air
It acts as both a gap-closer and a finisher, letting her punish enemies trying to flee or reposition. Because Confluence lets you fire it repeatedly, she can output multiple big hits in quick succession.
If something is between you and your target, a pillar, a wall, a tree, you’ll faceplant into it. Practice the distance in training so you don’t waste an ultimate by misjudging the gap. Loathsome Hex can also be used to reach downed allies, making it surprisingly versatile.
