Tips and tricks to defeat Qianye the Witch in Where Winds Meet

You will encounter Qianye the Witch during Chapter 1 of Where Winds Meet. She will be the final boss of this chapter, and defeating her will allow you to progress the story to the next part. However, her boss fight is not as straightforward as you might think, as she has two stages, each coming with its own unique mechanic.

Best weapons and skills

You will need the Meridian Touch ability for this battle, which you can unlock from one of the side quests early on. If you do not have it unlocked during the story battle, make sure to obtain it before you can challenge her again in the extermination/campaign mode.

For weapons, having the Panacea Fan will definitely give you an advantage, as it can heal you. For a second weapon, have any that you prefer and are comfortable with.

How to defeat Qianye the Witch in Where Winds Meet

Phase 1

• Most of Qianye's attacks can be parried. Parrying them allows you to quickly drain her Qi bar.
• Try to save your healing items for the second phase of the fight. Rely on the Panacea Fan's abilities if you brought that weapon into battle.
• When her Scythe starts glowing red, dodge to either left or right as quickly as you can. If you don't, you will be hit by simultaneously hit by three tremors that can take a chunk of your HP bar and leave you stunned.
• When she jumps to the pole of the arena, make sure to get to the center; otherwise, her scythe will hit you. When she pounces on you, time your Meridian Touch ability to avoid damage.
• When the time slows down around you, make sure to counter the attack from her clones.

Phase 2

• Similar to phase 1, keep an eye out for her attacks and counter them. Watch out for the golden glowing attack when she jumps into the air and dodge it.
• When you take about half of her HP bar, she will send you to the other side of the arena. Here, you will need to heal to maintain HP, as it will drain over time.
• When she elevates in the air, try to quickly get away from her and dodge the attack. Else, she can insta-kill you based on the difficulty.
