How to complete Shady Contractor quest in Escape from Tarkov

The Shady Contractor quest in Escape from Tarkov will be given to you by the Mechanic. According to him, there is a missing link between TerraGroup and OOO Knossos, a company that runs family entertainment centers. Hence, you will be asked to find Knossos LLC's senior manager’s car and bring a diary that could reveal the mystery. However, it won’t be that easy, as several enemies will be watching the area from a nearby hotel.

You can only access the Shady Contractor quest once you reach level 15 and complete the quest Saving the Mole. Here are the objectives:

Locate the Knossos LLC senior manager’s car on Ground Zero.
Locate and obtain the manager’s diary.

Where to find the Knossos LLC senior manager’s car

You can find the car just opposite the Gagarin Hotel and right beside a car dealership showroom. There will be numerous abandoned vehicles in the area, and locating the right one can be tricky. If you’re coming from the Terragroup Garage side (Northern side of the map), the easiest way to reach it is by spotting an ambulance in the middle of the road.

The car is on the southern side of the map on Norvinskaya Street, specifically just after the turn toward the Nakatani extract. Look for a black abandoned car, much like an old BMW, and that’s your quest object. Alternatively, if you spawn on the southern side of the map, things can get a bit trickier. Along the way, you’ll be exposed to several snipers positioned in the Capital Insight building.

The best way to reach the location is by using cover and carrying a solid loadout in case things go wrong. Look for the M logo building, as the car is parked right beside it. Once you find it, start by checking the driver’s seat. The diary can spawn in three places: on the driver’s side dashboard, on the driver’s seat, or inside the trunk (tucked right side).

After picking up the diary, you must survive and escape from the raid to hand it over to the Mechanic. If you die on your way to the extract, you’ll need to return to Ground Zero and complete the mission again.
