Before doing anything else, make sure the basics are covered:
- The base game Elden Ring Nightreign is required. The DLC does not function as a standalone expansion.
- Players who own the Deluxe Edition or Collector’s Edition will receive The Forsaken Hollows DLC automatically at launch.
- If you already own one of those editions, do not purchase the DLC separately, as it is already included.
- Players with the standard edition can buy the DLC on its own once it goes live.
Installing the Forsaken Hollows DLC in Elden Ring Nightreign does not immediately unlock everything. Progression is tied to specific story milestones and character unlocks.
Unlocking the new Nightfarers
To begin accessing Forsaken Hollows content, you’ll first need to unlock the newly added Nightfarers. Follow these steps:
- Defeat Tricephalos in the main game.
- Travel to Roundtable Hold after the fight.
- Speak with the Iron Menial, who will notify you about a message from the Small Jar Merchant.
- This interaction begins the process of unlocking the new Nightfarers tied to the DLC.
These characters must be made playable before additional The Forsaken Hollows DLC in Elden Ring Nightreign content becomes available.
How to unlock The Forsaken Hollows DLC bosses
The Forsaken Hollows bosses are locked behind multiple conditions. Simply owning the DLC is not enough. You must:
1) Defeat at least two bosses in the base game
- One of them must be Tricephalos
- The second can be any other main-game boss
2) Unlock and make both new Nightfarers playable
- Scholar
- Undertaker
- Once these requirements are met, head to the Small Jar Merchant
After speaking with the Small Jar Merchant under these conditions, the Forsaken Hollows boss content becomes available.
