Battlefield 6 Winter Offensive update: All new LTMs and map explained

The Battlefield 6 Winter Offensive update (1.1.3.0) is now live, and players can dive in to enjoy all new content. The update introduced some fresh and long-awaited LTM in the game, along with a new Freeze mechanic, which transforms the Empire State map into a fully snow-covered battleground. With this update, the dev has improved various bugs and issues, including some crucial gameplay errors.

All new time-limited Map

Ice Lock Empire State is a new limited-time map that transforms the regular Empire State into a winter-covered battleground. The revamped map will feature frozen streets and various seasonal environmental visuals in Battlefield 6. The Ice Lock limited-time event revolves around the special Freeze mechanic, which makes the match more challenging by constantly reducing players' health.

They need to find the heat zones that are present across the map in various locations. Alternatively, they can create fire by using the Incendiary Grenades and many other Gadgets to stay warm.

All new LTM

A limited-time themed mode has also been introduced, which players can access in any gameplay mode, including the Domination, Conquest, and Gauntlet missions based on the Ice Lock Empire State map. It also features the limited-time ‘Freeze’ mechanic.

Unlike the usual Gauntlet on Fort Lyndon, Ice Lock Gauntlet is played on the Ice Lock version of the Empire State map, with three fixed operations each match. Players must complete these while dealing with the freezing effect.

Other updates

The Winter Offensive brings a new melee weapon called the Ice Climbing Axe. Players can unlock this melee through the Winter Offensive Bonus Path. This is an 11-tier reward track that offers limited-time items like event cosmetics and XP Boosters. The update also brings several improvements, fixing audio problems, weapon and vehicle bugs, and various issues across maps and modes.
