Assassin's Creed Shadows x Attack on Titan walkthrough: How to complete the Descent quest

The Descent is the second quest of the Assassin's Creed Shadows x Attack on Titan collaboration story. It starts after completing the Beyond the Walls quest, and its primary objective is to find a path to the underground compound and save the captive. It should be noted that this quest line is available until December 22, 2025.

Open the barricaded door

After the conversation with Ada, ensure you refill your tools from that location. Then, squeeze through the gap in the northern wall.

When inside, look at the western side's wall to find a hole. Crawl through that to reach the opposite side.

Next, proceed south to find a chest at the end. Then, use your Kunai knife to strike the explosive on the other side of the wall.

Find a way to reach Gautwin

After the explosion, return to the same path you took and crawl through the hole to reach the other side.

Then, head north, cross to the other side, and continue forward until you find some white crystals blocking the path.

Use the grappling hook to get to the bottom (Image via Ubisoft)

Use your weapon to break through those crystals, and use the grappling hook on the crystals above to reach the bottom safely.

Then, proceed east, navigate to the lower area, and loot a chest at the back for a banner.

Afterward, return to the upper area from earlier and use the grappling hook to reach the subsequent platform.

Now, jump to the next pillar and use the crystal ledges to reach the upper platform.

Follow this path and trigger the explosive (Image via Ubisoft)

From there, use the wooden beams on the south to reach the next platform, proceed forward, crawl through the gap underneath, and at the end, throw a Kunai to trigger the explosive.

Return to the earlier location where you used the wooden beams to cross to enter the newly opened pathway to the east. Cross the gap by walking on the rope, move forward, and you will start to hear a distant conversation.

At the end of the path, you must crawl and continue east before heading north to exit. Now, keep following the path going north and use the grappling hook to cross the platform.

From there, jump ahead, grab the ledges, and reach the platform on the east.

Then, you can find a chest by grabbing the ledges that lead down to another platform. The chest contains a special banner from the Assassin's Creed Shadows x Attack on Titan event. Use the same way to return.

Afterward, go southeast, climb the ladder, proceed forward, and crawl to the other side. As you reach the end, drop down and use a Kunai on the explosive (towards south) to break a door open.

Next, proceed west, refill your tools, and when you reach the end, slide down and jump ahead at the correct time to catch the crystal ledge. Climb up using the subsequent ledges to move to the upper platform.

After that, use the grappling hook to navigate to the newly opened entrance to the east, continue forward, and use the grappling hook again to reach the ground below.

Wait for the conversation to end and assassinate the two enemies at that location. Ensure to refill your equipment, head east, and go through the glowing gap in the wall.

Free Gautwin

Reach this platform and kill the enemy in the north (Image via Ubisoft)

Use the grappling hook in the northeast to reach the first wooden platform. Then, kill the enemy on the north platform.

Afterward, jump to the platform on the east, execute the enemy, and then proceed northeast using the wooden beams. After reaching up, climb up towards the southeast and kill the two enemies standing there.

Next, use the grappling hook in the southeast and assassinate the enemy from above.

Climb above from the south and use the grappling hook twice to reach the subsequent platform.

From there, move towards the southwest and take a leap of faith to fall below. Then, head west, climb up the crystal ledges, and you will find a chest with a banner inside.

When done looting, navigate east and use the grappling hook to reach the next platform.

Again, use the grappling hook and grab the wooden structure ahead. Climb up and then drop down to the east to assassinate an enemy. Also, kill the enemy in the south by throwing the Kunai.

Then, walk on the rope to head east, drop down to the platform to kill the enemies, then climb the wooden platforms to the south to reach the upper area.

Assassinate the enemy in the south, then the next one in the east, and climb up using the wooden beams ahead.

As you're on the upper platform, assassinate the enemy, and use the grappling hook thrice to reach the platform in the north.

Now, defeat the enemy in the northeast, proceed east using the grappling hook, and kill the enemy from above.

Head southeast to find Gautwin (Image via Ubisoft)

Continue east, then to the southeast platform, and finally, use the grappling hook twice to reach Gautwin's location.

Defeat the fanatics

The next objective is to defeat the fanatics, along with their leader, Lord Albrecht, in a brawl. Since you'll be playing this part as Yasuke, defeat the ranged enemies first. Then, kill the melee fanatics.

Lastly, you can take Lord Albrecht quite efficiently. Avoid his red spree of attacks, and then parry the combos to damage him significantly. When his health bar is around 10 percent, a cutscene will begin.

Escape the cave

In the last part of the quest, you have to outrun a Titan and escape the cave. When the cutscene ends, proceed forward, slide down, cross the gaps, and at the end of the road, break the crystals by sprinting at them.

Cross the gaps ahead, go left to break the crystals, and when you reach another intersection, take left again.

Break the crystals at the front and proceed forward to break the subsequent crystal blockades.

Next, head northeast, climb the crystal ledges to move forward, and at the end of this road, break the last blockade to trigger a cutscene.

With this, the Descent quest will end. This also marks the end of this Assassin's Creed Shadows x Attack on Titan collab event.
