Assassin's Creed Mirage Valley of Memory walkthrough: How to complete Wares and Shadows quest

Wares and Shadows is the second quest of Assassin's Creed Mirage Valley of Memory, and it immediately starts after completing The Ones Who Remain quest. Its main objective is to visit the AlUla market to learn about Basim's father's whereabouts. However, the latter part of the quest takes an interesting turn.

Reach the town and talk to the merchant

Go to AlUla market and speak with this merchant (Image via Ubisoft)

After speaking with Nimlot at the end of The Ones Who Remain quest, Basim decides to investigate AlUla's marketplace to get more information about his father. So, call your mount and reach the marked location on the map.

Then, navigate to the market area and talk to the female merchant there. While talking to her, Basim will notice a man wearing the same attire as the robbers he met earlier in the Valley of Memory story.

Follow the robber

As the objective requires you to follow the robber, the first optional task you can complete is to steal from him. Initially, when he's slowly walking through the marketplace, go behind him to pickpocket. Make sure he doesn't notice you.

Next, climb any of the nearby rooftops and follow the robber from there. However, at one point, he will start running after being encountered by some guards.

You can utilize Enkidu's vision to locate the robber if you lose sight of him. To do that, call Enkidu (press B on PC / D-Pad up on controller) and track the area shown in the attached image.

Lastly, reach the marked location to trigger a cutscene. Basim will then fall into a trap and be imprisoned.
