ARC Raiders "Outdated Game Client" error: Possible fixes and reasons

ARC Raiders is currently one of the biggest extraction shooters on Steam. However, alongside its popularity, many players are facing an Outdated Game Client error when they try to start a match. This error started appearing more frequently after the October 31, 2025 patch. Interestingly, this issue was also observed during the playtests.

How to potentially fix the “Outdated Game Client” error in ARC Raiders

The Outdated Game Client error usually happens when the game version doesn't match the ARC Raiders servers. It could occur due to various reasons such as corrupted game files, poor internet connection, and a firewall that blocks the game's connection to the servers.

While there's no direct solution, here are some possible ways to fix it:

Verify game files

Corrupted or missing game files can often cause version mismatches. Here's how to verify the game files on Steam and Epic Games:

Steam

Go to your Steam Library.
Find ARC Raiders and go to Properties.
Go to the Installed Files tab.
Click on Verify integrity of game files.

Epic Games

Go to the Epic Games Library.
Find ARC Raiders and click the three dots icon.
Select Manage and click the Verify option.

Note that file verification could take several minutes. Once done, it's recommended to restart your system.

Unfortunately, if you are a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S user, there's no way to verify the game files. In that case, the only possible solution is to reinstall the game.

Allow the game through your firewall

Windows Firewall or a third-party antivirus could block the game's connection to the servers. Here's how to allow the game on Windows Firewall:

Open Windows Security.
Go to Firewall & network protection.
Select the Allow an app through firewall option.
Check both Private and Public boxes for the ARC Raiders file.

Check your internet speed and packet loss

An unstable internet connection can also stop the game client from syncing properly. Check your internet connection using a third-party network speed tester to make sure that there's no issue from the ISP side.
