Gameplay update

Enemy Highlights

Enemy highlights will no longer trigger on a team unless only one member is remaining.
Enemy highlights will no longer trigger if players bleed out manually.
Enemy highlight duration reduced from 5 to 2.5 seconds.

Shield Cells

Carrying capacity increased from 12 to 15.
Spawn rate of cells increased and reduced ammo spawn rate.

Gold tier loot

Digital Threat optic is back as a rare loot item. Can be equipped on Shotguns, SMGs, and Pistols.

Wildcard balance

Reduced shield recharge rate on Recharger wildcard when sprinting.
Reduced initial speed gain when using the Wallrun wildcard.

The enemy outline highlight on elimination being reduced is one of the biggest changes that can help teams survive on the battlefield for longer and participate in more gunfights. By limiting the timer on the highlight, solo survivors will potentially have a better chance of survival and bringing back the team.

Moreover, the devs are tweaking some of the Wildcards to balance the pool of power-ups while also increasing the amount of Shield Cells one can carry. This was a major issue since the mode does not contain big healing items like Batteries for a full shield recharge.

The return of the Digital Threat optic is one of the most exciting additions for Apex Legends Season 27 Wildcard. This could be a possible hint that this item may finally be added back to the main game, and even to the Ranked mode in the future.
