6) The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

Released as a precursor to Life is Strange 2, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is a completely free-to-download slice-of-life game. Dontnod's 2018 adventure puts you in the boots of a young kid named Chris, who lives with his father and is dealing with the loss of his mother.
As a coping mechanism, he creates the alter ego Captain Spirit, who helps him defeat supervillains in this journey set in a winter setting, and develops superpowers.
