Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in excellent form while representing India A in the ongoing three-match unofficial ODI series against South Africa A in Rajkot. In the opening game on November 13, he produced a superb knock of 117 off 129 balls, striking 12 fours and guiding India A to a four-wicket win while chasing 286.
In the second match on November 16, he remained unbeaten on 68 off 83 deliveries, smashing nine fours as India A cruised to a comfortable nine-wicket victory in a chase of 133. The right-hander has been outstanding in List A cricket, maintaining an average of over 50.

#1 Ruturaj Gaikwad (57.80)
Ruturaj Gaikwad currently holds the highest List A batting average among Indian players. He made his List A debut in 2017, representing Maharashtra against Himachal Pradesh, and marked the occasion with a brilliant 132 off 110 balls.
Since then, he has featured in 88 List A matches, including six international appearances, scoring 4,509 runs in 85 innings at an impressive average of 57.80 and a strike rate of 100.98. His tally includes 18 half-centuries, 17 centuries, and a highest score of an unbeaten 220.
#2 Cheteshwar Pujara (57.01)
Second on the list is former batter Cheteshwar Pujara, who announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket on August 24, 2025. The right-hander made his List A debut on February 25, 2006, representing West Zone against Central Zone in the Deodhar Trophy, where he was dismissed for just six.
Pujara went on to play 130 List A matches, including five ODI appearances for the senior team, scoring 5,759 runs at an average of 57.01. His record features 34 half-centuries, 16 centuries, and a highest score of 174.
#3 Virat Kohli (56.66)
Next on the list is veteran India batter Virat Kohli, who is the second-highest run-scorer in ODI cricket with 14,255 runs at an average of 57.71 and a strike rate of 93.26, along with 75 half-centuries and 51 centuries.
Since making his List A debut in 2006, Kohli has gone on to play 339 matches, scoring 15,697 runs at an average of 56.66 and a strike rate of 93.31. His record includes 83 fifties, 55 hundreds, and a highest score of 183.
#4 Prithvi Shaw (55.72)
Maharashtra batter Prithvi Shaw completes the list at No. 4. The 26-year-old made his List A debut for Mumbai against Gujarat in February 2017 during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he was dismissed for 10 off 19 balls.
Since then, Shaw has featured in 65 List A matches, including six ODI appearances for the Men in Blue, scoring 3,399 runs at an average of 55.72 and a strike rate of 125.74, with 14 half-centuries, 10 centuries, and a highest score of 244.
