Yashasvi Jaiswal gets out to Marco Jansen once again for 22 off 38 in IND vs SA 2025 2nd ODI [Watch]

India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal fell cheaply as South African seamer Marco Jansen claimed his first wicket in the second ODI of the three-match series. The contest is being played on Wednesday, December 3, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Raipur.

Jaiswal’s dismissal came on the fourth delivery of the 10th over. Jansen bowled a short-pitched delivery, rising to almost shoulder height. Jaiswal attempted a pull shot but misjudged it, sending the ball high toward square leg, where Corbin Bosch completed the catch. This was Jaiswal’s fourth dismissal at the hands of Jansen on the ongoing tour, having already been dismissed three times by the left-arm seamer in the Test series.

The left-hander fell for 22 off 38 balls, hitting two fours and one six. His dismissal left India at 62/2 after 9.4 overs.

Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal fall cheaply as India lose two wickets inside the powerplay in the 2nd ODI

After being asked to bat first, Yashasvi Jaiswal got India off to a good start, hitting Nandre Burger for a four off the very first ball. In the fifth over, Rohit Sharma struck three consecutive fours off Burger before edging one to wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock on the penultimate delivery, departing for 14 off eight balls.

First game Player of the Match award winner Virat Kohli walked in at No. 3 and opened his account with a maximum off Lungi Ngidi. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal couldn’t build on his start and was dismissed for 22 off 38 balls by Marco Jansen, as the hosts lost both openers inside the powerplay.

Ruturaj Gaikwad then came in at No. 4 and found some luck, starting with a streaky four while also managing to clear the ropes for a six off a top edge. At the time of writing, India were 96/2 after 15 overs, with Kohli on 20 and Gaikwad on 27 at the crease.
