Yashasvi Jaiswal dubs Team India legend as 'Dhurandhar' post IND vs SA 2025 ODIs

Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has dubbed former captain and veteran batter Rohit Sharma as ‘Dhurandhar.’ The duo were last seen in action during the three-match ODI series against South Africa, which India won 2-1.

The 23-year-old appeared on Agenda AajTak 2025 on Wednesday, December 10, where he was asked to name a player based on Bollywood movie titles in a fun segment. When the movie ‘Dhurandhar’ was mentioned, Jaiswal chose Rohit Sharma. For ‘Baahubali,’ he picked veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, saying:

“Absolutely, you can see that he is very strong mentally.”

Meanwhile, the title ‘Saiyaara’ went to Virat Kohli. He picked himself for ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani,’ and for the movie ‘Dabangg,’ he named Hardik Pandya, stating:

“Yes, he is very courageous. He really enjoys cricket, has great confidence, and plays in a fearless, dominant style.”

When asked about the most big-hearted (dildar) players, he named the two Indian veterans, saying:

“The most big-hearted, I think there are two people. Virat paaji and KL bhai. KL bhai is also very big-hearted.”

KL Rahul was recently in the spotlight as India secured the ODI series win against the Proteas under his leadership, with Shubman Gill absent due to injury.

In the same interaction, Yashasvi Jaiswal was asked to pick the most hardworking player in the team, and he named Shubman Gill, adding:

“I feel that Shubman bhai, as much as I have seen him recently and observed him closely, has worked very hard. He works incredibly hard and stays very consistent with his routines. He pays a lot of attention to fitness, to his diet, to his skills, running, training, everything is unbelievable. It feels great to watch him and play with him. He is an amazing man as well, so it is always fun.”

Meanwhile, when asked to name the most street-smart (jugadu) player, Yashasvi Jaiswal picked wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, saying:

“The most resourceful in the team, I think, is Dhruv Jurel. He is very jugadu. For example, if we have to go somewhere or we need to get something done, I tell him, 'Bro, please do it, I won't be able to.' And he actually does it. He has a lot of knowledge. Like if we are going out for coffee, or to a good restaurant, or if we are stuck in any situation, he helps us a lot.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal is next expected to play for Mumbai in the Super League stage of the 2025-26 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT).
