Team India all-rounder Shivam Dube's stunning streak of 37 unbeaten matches in T20I cricket came to a tame end with the loss to Australia in the second T20I at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The Suryakumar Yadav-led side were defeated by 0-1 on Friday, October 31, to go 0-1 down in the five-match series.

Shivam Dube has been an integral part of the Indian T20I setup, especially in recent years. He played a crucial role in the Men in Blue's title wins during the 2024 T20 World Cup as well as the 2025 Asia Cup. To date, he has 43 matches till date, of which only two have been losses.

The all-rounder, ironically, kick-started his T20I career as being part of the Indian side that suffered a rare and shocking loss to Bangladesh in the first T20I during the home series in 2019.

The last time that Shivam Dube was involved in a T20I contest that ended in defeat was during the home bilateral series against the West Indies in 2019. During the second T20I at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, the Men in Blue suffered an eight-wicket loss.

In that contest, the southpaw had scored his maiden fifty, while batting at No.3, to take India's total to 170-7. However, the visitors completed a clinical chase to scale the score with nine deliveries to spare .

Dube's incredible 37-match streak included some notable highs, like India's 5-0 whitewash against New Zealand, India's Asian Games Gold Medal run, the 2024 T20 World Cup, and the 2025 Asia Cup as well.

The explosive batter was sent in to bat at No.8 in the first innings amid a massive batting collapse. Although India lost five wickets by the eighth over, he was held back, while Harshit Rana was promoted ahead of him.

Dube eventually stepped out to bat in the 16th over after Australia broke the partnership. However, the all-rounder could not make an impact as he nicked one to Josh Inglis off Xavier Bartlett's bowling after getting off the mark with a boundary.
